Mrs. Thompson’s Art Class

This will be my second year at Snyder Elementary. We had an amazing year and I am looking forward to another!

I have a loving husband, Scott. I received an undergraduate degree in Architecture from IIT and then decided to follow my passion for art education and earned a master’s degree from Columbia College in Chicago. I have had tremendous opportunities to teach students with diverse backgrounds in Illinois, rural Nebraska and Texas. My passion for art started as a young child, with a love for painting and building with Legos.

In my art classroom, I want students to experience my passion for art and the creative process. I am hoping my enthusiasm for art and the adventures we will have in art class will help instill the importance for art as an educational tool in my student's lives. Mostly, I hope art class can be a fun creative outlet, an opportunity for students to get to know themselves and their classmates at little bit better. I am very excited to see and experience art at Snyder!
